Amberg Director of Public Relations 813/282-1225 Chef Roy Yamaguchi to be Honored at Honolulu Centennial Gala Celebration Honolulu 100 -- People Who Made a Significant Impact HONOLULU, HAWAII — Chef Roy Yamaguchi will be among the Honolulu 100 to be honored at the Centennial Gala Celebration of Honolulu on November 17, 2005. Selected (from literally hundreds of nominees) by a committee assembled by members of the Honolulu Centennial Celebration Commission and HONOLULU Magazine, along with input from the public, the Honolulu 100 these individuals have been selected for their important contributions to building Honolulu since the City and County of Honolulu incorporated in 1905, into the city that it is today. The Centennial Gala Celebration will be held at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel & Resort, and will feature live entertainment by some of Hawaii’s best performers and cuisine by several of Hawaii’s favorite celebrity chefs. Headlining the evening’s entertainment will Willy K.; Society of Seven LV; Jasmine Trias; and the Royal Hawaiian Band with Nina Keali‘iwahamana, Azure McCall and Trio, and The Drifters.
