Scheduled for Monday, May 1, Lei Day at Roy’s brings this beloved Hawaiian tradition to life. A celebration first begun in Hawaii in 1928, it is recognized today as an official holiday in Honolulu and other islands. To join in the festivities on the mainland, Roy’s will offer a special island inspired four-course prix fixe dinner paired with fine wines for $80 per person. All guests dining at Roy’s that evening will enjoy live Hawaiian music and hula dancing, and receive either a handmade fresh flower lei (for the women) or a kukui nut lei (for the men), flown in especially for the festivities from the island of Maui. The evening is unique in that each course featured on the pre-fixe menu has been created by a member of Yamaguchi’s “Dream Team” which includes chef partners from Las Vegas, Nevada; Naples, Florida; Orlando, Florida; and Los Angeles, California. Much of the success of Roy’s throughout the world is credited to Yamaguchi’s ability to inspire talented, young chefs who show great promise and a passion for his Hawaiian Fusion® Cuisine. For those with a special craving for one of Roy’s signature dishes, the regular a la carte menu will be available. To celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 14, Roy’s will open early, and offer a special three-course prix fixe menu ($30.00) along with a two-course children’s menu from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Selections will include Crab and Lobster Rangoons, Curry Braised Short Ribs, Crab Cakes Benedict and Hawaiian Style “Loco Mocco” Meatloaf.
